Welcome to the Rider Gear Guide!
This Guide will serve as a crash course and refresher for both new and old players in War Dragons.
To start off, you need to understand what gear is. Gear is what you put on Dragon Riders to enhance the Dragon/Base strength. Depending on how you do this, it can affect your Dragons/Base positively or negatively. If you do it correctly you will be all set to burn bases and shoot out dragons!
This building is the Forge.
It is found in the Main Game as one of the buildings on the Den Island.
The Forge is the building where players will craft their gear, amongst other Consumables and Tools used in the game, such as Timers, Spells, Base Boost, and much more.
When you enter the Forge you should click the Gear tab on the left of the screen. This will take you to the Rider Gear crafting section of the Forge.
The first thing you will notice about this tab is there's a lot of gear types, two types for each element. The crucial part of gear you need to understand is it depends on what dragon you plan to equip it on. The gear's element must match the element of the dragon it is made for in order to equip it, gear can only be equip on a rider that is bonded to a dragon!
The second thing you will notice when you attempt to craft gear is there is a tab for regular and ascended gear.
When it comes to crafting gear, there's one important thing to understand between the gear types. They are extremely different, and what you craft will affect the Dragon/Base!
Offensive Gear is intended to be used on a Dragon with a Rider made for Offense, the stats of Offensive Gear will include something with DRAGON Attack or Health Points!
Defensive Gear is intended to be used on a Dragon with a Rider made for Defense to be put on the perch. The stats of Defensive gear will include something with TOWER Attack or Health Points!
Now on to the difference between Regular, and Ascended Gear.
Regular Gear comes in multiple rarities, and thus follow different stats for their max level, they are generic pieces of gear that have no other bonus, typically only newer lower level players will craft Regular Gear.
Exotic Gear technically falls in the middle of both Regular and Ascended Gear, as it has high base stats alongside a substat that gives a special ability to dragons depending on what piece of gear it is.
Ascended Gear is the strongest type of gear, with the highest base stats and 4 substats that follow. Each piece of gear has certain sub statstats it can obtain and the 4 substats are random, but you can "Reforge" substats to reroll what it is for a better one!

Remember to Reforge as much as possible to get the best pair of substats!
